Elsie Challenge #51- Fill a background
My first intention for this page was to completly fill it with flowers. But, as I laid it out, it seemed a little overwhelming, so I scaled back the flowers.

The picture is my niece Lauren one day when I styled her hair for her. She posed for some pictures afterwards and I got some really cute shots. At the end, she reminded me that being a 5 year old means being a little silly and I love this funny picture of her.

Elsie Challenge #27- Scrapbook those silly pictures

Can you see me? I promise I am in there. Bobby took this picture of me at the National Archives Building. It was in one of those areas where flash is not allowed so that you don't ruin something important such as the Declaration of Independence.

Well, when he took this, I viewed the picture and saw that it did not turn out, so I was just going to delete it like I would normally do to pictures like this. Well, Bobby said, "Hey, that is a cool picture, you could make a scrapbook page out of it." So, I said, "Sure Bobby, you are brillant" and thought, "Yeah, right, I will never use it."

When I got the Elsie Challenge to do a silly picture, I thought of this one. There was really no meaning behind using it, but I think I can come up with one. I would say that this reflects "me" because I realize that in art, nothing is perfect and to just use the talents or fuzzy pictures you are given!

Elsie's Challenge #32-
Playing w/Photo Proportions

Growing up, I was taught to "color inside the lines" and I did. When I started scrapbooking, I followed the rules because...well, those were the rules, mam!

With Elsie Flannigan's challenges, I have learned through her style that it is ok to play in the lines, out of the lines and everywhere in between. I am having so much fun with this type of scrappin, I just love it.

I saw this picture the other day of my parents in the 70's and really wanted to do something fun. So, I scanned it and enlarged it and had fun with it.

My project for today was to finally cover these cute inital letters that I bought on a trip to Utah a while back. They look so cute in my scraproom!

In 2005, I decided to enter the "Cut n Paste" Design Team Challenge Contest. I was nervous about it since I had never entered a scrapbook contest before.

Well, I won! I was so excited! I got a gift certificate from the store and became a design team member for a month. I completed 3 layouts that were displayed in the store. I got emails and post from other scrapbookers congratulating me and telling me they had seen my work hanging in the store. It was a lot of fun!!
I got this email from my sister and the title read, "Redneck Swimming Pool", so I thought it was one of those cute forwards with some little "mullet-headed baby" in a pool. Imagine my surprise when I saw my sweet niece Lauren playing in an ice chest with her buddy Audrey. Laughing so hard and glad I was not drinking milk, I knew I had to do something special for this picture. When I saw this design in CK mag., I knew I had to do it...totally scraplift it! I love how it came out. The Picture says "Summer is..." and the words around the picture are summer words such as "playing in the grass", "popcicles", "sunglasses", rainy days", etc. The words took a while to do, but it was fun.
I just really, really love this picture of my niece, Paige. She looks like she is having the time of her life. Sometimes I think it would be so nice to be a kid again and be thrilled with the little things in life. I guess we should all get our "wheeeee's" while we can!
" A Day at the Fish"
One day we met Pub and her family at Vicious Fish Tacos to eat some yummy food and to visit with Shannon and David. Loved using the Urban Couture....fun stuff.
